I am not happy with my experience at WI Self Storage. Had a lot of issues and was treated unfairly. Rented twice first time was pleasant, second (most recent) was terrible. Rented near the basement unknowingly, in the spring it's trap door was left open, it stunk all my belongings up like dead animal. I tried to rent elsewhere in the building and was told the pallets fit in the elevator. Packed everything on to one and it did not fit through the elevator. Left items in the hall and was evicted. Earlier in my occupancy I told staff Iam disabled and asked for a disabled unit and they did not offer me one thou they are open or taken by non-disabled people. I told the lady I broke my neck and was doing the moving on my own and she said they couldn't find me a closer unit. Same lady came to my space a day early to tell me she was doing a courtesy check up on my move out thinking it was that day I was leaving...courtesy for what? They do not help move. Next day the manager said I was supposed to have been out but she was wrong. They were trying to lock me out a day early by mistake. Also saw online almost 30$ cheaper than in store thou they knew I needed more space they did not refer me to the web and would not discount a 10x10. In my opinion what is done for one customer should e done for all. They give some customers an extra 3-4 days to move out past their move out date but not others. Lots of gossip(told another customer not to assist me because 'her life is a mess', told another employee not to call me back about a part time position). District manager comes inconsistently, she was the one to tell me the job was filled and I am evicted. I have not noticed a new person hired. She also said she could not smell the decaying rotten smell from the hallway in the spring. Insurance asked me to send samples of the smell LMBO. Snooping goes on there in fact I think that mostly all the district manager does. Very unprofessional. I am adding to this post to follow up with what has happened to me since on the fifth day after my move out Oct 9th 2018 I rented a campsite. put my belongings in a panorama tent and had a major fly infestation no doubt ftom the spring basement decay. 3 hours later a downpour came unexpectedly and flooded my tent and everything I own got ruined. I made two videos and am going to take a third. Please remember to purchase additional insurance for situations like these. Who knew gossip could ruin a person's life. Sincere Apologies WI Self Storage. I am sorry you never got the opportunity to know me as a person before imposing on me. I'm sorry I chose you but you didn't choose me. One last note...I was warned many times that if I wasn't out by 9PM nightly the police would come when code was pushed to leave. I left twice by accident after 9 and they were not called. why not? why was I granted late exits? Why had others told me they could leave as late as 10. When there was a man who followed me from across town and entered through the office to stalk me pretending to know me why was he allowed to pass through? why did no one try to escort him or call police. I think anyone who stores belongings there should be given the police emergency code for the enter/exit keypad. Cell phones DO NOT work in the building. Safety Issues. CUSTOMER SERVICE LISTEN ASK TAKE NOTES DONT JUDGE. I was asked on move out day what was all my rocks and strange collection for. I have been storing them to donated to a museum for Paleo Native research. 10,000 people vanished from Calumet County WI. My personal items were there from a divorce and the missing of my child/children. I was a sculptress (see YouTube under Psyn. Janel Rouge) I attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and have a BFA. I have tons of BAGGAGE lol. I laugh now because when you lose everything ya got nothing left to lose!!!
