The Grand Chute Police Department has shown me personally nothing but professionalism and common courtesy. I've interacted with them twice this month already, once I was pulled over for speeding which was completely my fault and I was given a warning (which I did not expect honestly) The second time I called them because one of my neighbors was being violent with his girlfriend right outside their home. They showed up and handled everything professionally and by the book. The guy was arrested because he had a big mouth and wouldn't stop making a scene. I was called by the officers on scene after things had calmed down, they offered to come get my written statement another day so nobody would see who called. (Which I felt was unnecessary, but a courteous offer.) When they did come into my home, I had my 9mm handgun on the coffee table (registered and legal). As a professional courtesy I took out the loaded magazine and set it on the table next to the weapon. They appreciated the courtesy and I appreciated their professionalism during the encounter. I have nothing but good to say about the Grand Chute Police, thank you all for your service!
One of their officers was cruising at, AT LEAST 40 MPH in a 25 MPH. No lights, no siren, just speeding!! Right on Wisconsin Ave.
VERY DISRESPECTFUL! I'm not speaking to all of the officers at GPD, only the ones I've come in contact with who include OFFICER SHEPARD (and OFFICER PEETERS, but he is with the APD, not GPD). Very rude to me. Both treated me like I was hardcore criminal for nothing but minor traffic violations. Unbelievable. This is why the public doesn't have trust in police..... they abuse their power!!!!!!!!!!
Officer C. peters was extremely unprofessional and treated me like a sub human because it was the end of her shift. I know this because she vocalized it but refused to tell me what was going on. At that point I became angry. My boyfriend was being detained and the other cop searched through the entire vehicle including my purse and bags which had nothing illegal in them. I understand having to search through things, I typically respect the law. However he handled my things poorly. He threw everything on the sidewalk and paid no respect to my belongings. He also left the vehicle a mess. Officer Peters then hand cuffed me even though I was standing in place in a non-threatening manner.. I was just standing there crying and being very emotional asking what was happening. She then put me in the back seat of the cop car. She gave me a disorderly conduct fine for $386 for raising my voice because she would not tell me what was going on. I cannot believe the Appleton Police department hires disrespectful egotistical people like this woman. Shame on her for using her authority to treat me as a lesser human. I didn't deserve the treatment I received from her. I take full responsibility for raising my voice but I was in a panic and was very confused. They also did not let me use my phone to find a ride home and they left me there. The police literally stranded me. What is worse is I am not from Appleton so I had nowhere idea where I was. Thank the lord for the bystander who helped me out because he saw everything and was appalled by how she treated me. I believe there are professional police officers in the Appleton police department I am not rating the department as a whole but this officer in particular is awful and does not deserve the title she has. Long story short, officer C Peters took her authority to an unprofessional level. I will be filing a complaint. No offense to the rest of the Appleton Police Department.
Every officer I've come into contact with has been kind, helpful, respectful, and professional. These officers care about their community, they're responsive to calls for assistance, and they do tons of outreach to build a positive rapport with their citizens. We appreciate you, GCPD! :)
