I would give this place a zero stars if Google would allow it. Was going to get married there. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!! She took our $300 room reservation then 1.5 months later sent a contract saying if we dont do all of our wedding activities there we lose the room. Contract stating we need to pay another $700 in three days or lose the room. What? Only was given a receipt showing $300 paid non-refundable. Sorry also not paying $20 for a pot of coffee, being forced to use her printed out table seating arrangements, being told any left over food we paid for we cant take and telling us the cake we were going to bring was considered one of the courses she is charging us for. What? She totally ingnored emails and voice mails from my fiance' for 13 days forcing us to go in to ask these questions and she then made us wait 25 minutes as she went over the emails. The details all have changed since first talking to her, then changed again. Now again. RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN if you don't want your day ruined. Oh, btw we dont get the room now because she didnt get $700 more from us. She got our $300 and did nothing but waste our time and frustrated everyone. RUN!!! RUN!!!! RUN!!!!!Update: We ended up having our reception at the Leg Lamp Lodge above the Bar on College ave. Awesome. See my review of that experience.
A home away from home. The food is always delicious. In addition, the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.
Atlas is a great cozy place. My favorite part is the owners who are very friendly and recognize repeat customers. The food is really good. We usually go for brunch and end up getting baked oatmeal, egg burrito, and egg panini. Everything is always very hot and tastes fresh. The baked oatmeal is comfort food at its best. They also have a variety of lunch food and at select times have things like pancakes. There has never been a wait. Their espresso drinks are also very good. Somehow they always have delicious fruit no matter what time of year. They serve produce fresh from their garden which is right off the patio seating. You can watch the birds over the water on the patio or from the big windows inside. There is a shop in part of the seating area. They have a big room for small gatherings and I believe they have a large room for events. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it's pretty expensive but the quality is high so we go at least once a month.
After two bad experiences we thought we give it a third try. Never again! As we walked in to the coffee shop we were told the stroller had to be put in the hallway, not enough room. We had a sleeping child to wake up! Keep in mind there was no one else in the coffee shop at the time. In hindsight we just have left at that moment. Then we were nickeled and dimed on 2 paper cups for hot chocolates for children because the owner supposedly did not have a small size mug for them?! One of the other experiences included my husband studying for a professional license and he was rudely told to turn his computer off because it was too loud (no one else was in the restaurant). I can see now why no one is ever in this restaurant. It is in a prime location and should be busy on a Sunday morning. Customer service is truly lacking. As a customer I left there feeling ripped off and treated poorly. Horrible experience I would advise never stepping foot into this place.
I see now I'm not the only one who had a bad experience here. Wow. I should have read the reviews. The customer service is terrible. I was quickly confronted about the water bottle I brought in as I was trying to place my order. The elderly woman behind the counter said I would have to bring it back to my car. I ordered an herbal tea. She brought out a tea that she chose for me without letting me know what it would be. When I tried to pay with my debit card, she said there was a $10 minimum and that I would have to buy a $10 gift card to use to buy the tea. I wish I would have known this before she made the tea. Since she was already rather hostile and snobbish toward me, I couldn't see myself returning to use the gift card. I told her I would just have to leave then. So bizarre! I've never experienced anything like this. How is this place still in business? It's too bad. I had really been looking forward to coming here after just moving to the area.
