  Dr. Schinke practices conservative care. For the 80% of cases, this approach might be most appropriate. For the 20% of cases that needed greater diagnostic procedures, Dr. Schinke's 'wait and see' philosophy simply pushed the problem out by 1/2 a year. After working with Dr. Schinke for nearly 7 months receiving 'conservative care' (where I had an Xray and wore a boot hoping the foot would heal) I was then allowed to have an MRI and they found a tear in my ligament and a broken bone that did not show in the Xray. The surgery went well and I am much better. I do not doubt her expertise. Additionally, the Doctor and the staff remain rigid in their office protocols which meets the needs of administration and not the patient. I'm sad but sure that we will find more attentive and customized care in Appleton. We have seen her for years for myself and my family and am tired of the hoops we seem to have every time. Today, my mother took my daughter to her office for an appointment. In the spring, I had written a note asking them to accept my mother to take my daughter. I spoke to the office as they were in the office and was told I needed to write a new note for today. As I was working, I told them I could do this in a few hours. They refused to see my daughter as the doctor felt uncomfortable. She had a prior written note from me 6 months prior and was talking to me directly on the phone, was assured of a written note from me in 2 hours, and knew my mother and my family for years. I really feel badly about this.
